Most families come to us knowing only the name of the cemetery, and sometimes not even that. That is enough to begin with. We can create a beautiful lasting memorial for the person you lost, and there is no part of this you are expected to already understand.
Our hours are by appointment only. That is deliberate. It lets us give all our time to one family at a time, rather than to whoever happens to walk in.

Our monuments include many ethnic designs. If your family carries a pattern, a script or an emblem that matters, it can be cut into granite, and we have been cutting them here for a long time.
Ukrainian embroidery, cut into stone
The rushnyk patterns a family has stitched for generations are the same patterns we carve. Three bar crosses, tryzub emblems, wheat, and the running embroidery borders that frame them.
Inscriptions are lettered in Cyrillic or in English, or in both. We have made monuments for St. Andrew's Cemetery in South Bound Brook and for Ukrainian cemeteries across this region.
Celtic scrolls and ring crosses
Interlaced ring crosses, knotwork down the shaft, shamrock and vine borders carved around the arch.
The interlace is the difficult part. It has to read cleanly as carved stone from ten feet away and still hold together up close, which is a matter of how deep it is cut and how the light falls on it.

These are the forms families choose between most often. Every one of them can be made in a different granite, at a different size, with whatever carving and lettering you want on it.

We also make flat markers, slant markers, grave markers and Celtic crosses. If you have seen something in a cemetery and cannot name it, describe it to us, or photograph it. That is usually quicker than a catalog.
Every cemetery has its own rules. That part is ours to handle.
All our custom designed granite headstones comply with all local cemetery regulations. What a cemetery permits changes from one to the next, and sometimes from one section to the next inside the same grounds: the height, the width, the base, whether the stone may be polished on all sides, whether a vase is allowed at all.
You are not expected to know any of this. Tell us the cemetery and the section, and we design within what they allow, so that nothing is refused after it has been cut.

What does a monument cost?
It depends on the granite, on the size the cemetery permits, and on how much carving and lettering the stone carries. A flat marker and a double upright with carved embroidery panels are not the same purchase.

Can the inscription be in Ukrainian?
Yes. In Cyrillic, in English, or in both on the same stone. We speak Ukrainian and English, so the wording can be settled properly in whichever language the family is most comfortable in, rather than approximated.
Do I have to come to you?
No. We welcome requests for appointments in the convenience of your home. Our hours are by appointment only, which is what makes that possible.
How do I know the cemetery will accept it?
Because it is designed to their rules before it is cut. All our custom designed granite headstones comply with all local cemetery regulations. Give us the cemetery and the section, and the design stays inside what they allow.
I do not know what I want. Is that a problem?
No. Almost nobody does. Most families arrive with a name, a date and a feeling about the person, and that is genuinely enough to start from. With your ideas and our experience, we can create a beautiful lasting memorial for your loved one.
Can you match a family design that is already in the cemetery?
Yes. If there is a stone already standing that a new one has to sit beside, photograph it, or tell us where it is. Matching the granite, the shape and the lettering to what is already there is ordinary work for us.
